Stronger, Faster, Harder = Right-Wing

Surprise, surprise. Men who are physically weak are more likely to favor socialist policies.

An academic study from researchers at Brunel University London assessed 171 men, looking at their height, weight, overall physical strength and bicep circumference, along with their views on redistribution of wealth and income inequality. The study, published in the Evolution and Human Behavior journal, ​found that weaker men were more likely to favor socialist policies than stronger men.

Other studies in the past have also suggested stronger men are more right-wing than physically weaker men. “Researchers found that men’s opinions on redistribution of wealth could be predicted by their upper body strength, with powerful men more likely to take a conservative stance of protecting their own interests,” noted The Telegraph of a 2013 study from Aarhus University in Denmark.

A couple of points about this:

First, as with all such science, a degree of skepticism is warranted here, so let’s remember that.

Second, general observation at the gym and in society at large could have told us about these results, which is funny in and of itself.

Third, I wonder if this is also linked to testosterone production in the sense that if you hit the gym, then your testosterone production increases, which, in turn, might also affect if you are right-wing or not. Furthermore, the fact that testosterone production in Western men has naturally decreased in recent years might also be a reason that Western men have become more socialist/weak in orientation in the West. So this would be another issue to address.

Fourth, it is funny how this supports the cyclical idea that strong men create comfortable civilizations which then, in turn, create weak men, which causes civilization to become hard, which then once again requires the existence of hard men to right the course, and so on and so forth. If this is the case, then there is little reason to despair, for we are very likely to get hard again very soon.

Fifth — and most importantly — if you are a parent and you want your sons to stay on the right, then make sure they hit the gym with you as soon as possible!
