In the wake of the Manchester attack, ISIS of course claimed responsibility. And what they said concerning the attack was the following:
With Allah’s grace and support, a soldier of the Khilafah managed to place explosive devices in the midst of the gatherings of the Crusaders in the British city of Manchester.
The explosive devices were detonated in the shameless concert arena. What comes next will be more severe on the worshipers of the Cross and their allies.
Now, the reason that I wanted to bring this up is the following: although much of this is Islamist propaganda, the fact remains that there is a kernel of truth in it. And that kernel is this: whether you are a Christian or not, the Islamists will see you as one. Indeed, whether you are the most dyed-in-the-wool atheist, the Islamists will still see you as a Christian Crusader, and they will kill you all the same.
My point: If you are going to be treated as a Christian Crusader, then you might as well become one, at least in the cultural sense. Now this is obviously tongue in cheek, but quite seriously, there is something right in the claim that if your enemy is going to consider you as being of a certain identity, then perhaps you should give that identity a second thought.
